Expression of Interest to the Board

Background

The ArCham Australia (Argentine Chamber of Commerce in Australia) is a not-for-profit, incorporated association governed by a Board of Directors who are appointed to manage the affairs of the Association in accordance with its Rules and Constitution. 

There are various positions available commencing October 2024.

All board positions are voluntary. A Director is on the Board for the benefit of the Association and to represent the interests of its members before its own or those of the employer.

ArCham Goals

Promotion of interests for a trade between Argentina and Australia.

  • Encourage and foster trade between Argentina and Australia.
  • Assist members with a network of key players for developing new businesses and amplifying existing ones.
  • Familiarise our members with business opportunities resulting from the Argentina-Australia relationship.
  • Create awareness of the capabilities and potential of our members..
  • Channel and conduct cross country philanthropy and community engagement projects.

Eligibility

Please be advised of the constitutional requirements to nominate for a position on the Board of Directors:

  1. The person nominated must have an active membership with the ArCham at the time of confirmation of their nomination.
  2. Must be eligible to vote at the Annual General Meeting (AGM).
  3. The person nominated must not be ineligible for Board membership under the Associations Incorporation Act 2015 or the Club Constitution.
  4. Must have a true interest or connection to support the ArCham’s goals.

Note that the opportunity to nominate as a candidate for the Board of Directors is available for limited numbers.

Board Structure

The Board of Directors consists of at minimum 3 members, including the Officers of ArCham Australia and such other members as the Board shall require from time to time.

Officers of the ArCham Australia will be the position of:

  • the President (or Chairperson)
  • Treasurer
  • Secretary

Non-officer Director specific positions that subject to the Board’s decision may be required from time to time:

  • Directors with responsibility per geography (eg: NSW, VIC, QLD, Argentina, etc.)
  • Directors with responsibility per Industry (Agriculture, Mining, Energy, etc.)
  • Directors with other specific responsibilities
