Eight Argentine Government Staff Nominated for the AusAID’s Fellowship Program

Argentine national and provincial government staff completed their training and work placement in Landgate, the most advanced land information agency in Australia.
The Argentine Chamber of Commerce – Australia (Archam) aims to continuously build connections between Argentine and Australian private and public entities- bringing both countries closer together.
Landgate is the authority responsible for Western Australia’s land and property information, recognised as one of Australia’s top public-sector innovators.
Landgate participates in the AusAID’s Australian Leadership Awards Fellowship Program (Fellowship Program) that immerse the Fellows into the modern land information agency.

In 2017, ArCham had the honor of introducing the program to the relevant Argentinean Representatives, as well as informing Landgate of the current challenges Argentina faces to administrate land and property information. At the end of 2017 eight Argentine government staff were nominated by Landgate to participate in the Fellowship Program, providing the country with a unique opportunity to learn how to operate a modern and efficient land administration system On 19 February 2018, the nominees commenced the immersion to the innovated agency to provide them with new valuable skills and knowledge that can be implemented in their own organisations on return.

His Excellency the Ambassador of the Argentine Republic to Australia, Dr. Hugo J. Gobbi and Archam’s Executive Chairman, Diego Berazategui visited Landgate on the  commencement date to meet the Fellows and recognised the value Landgate work adds to the participants of the Program.

On 16 March, the Fellows delivered their final presentations where each of them shared their experience in the Fellowship and provided their conclusion on how the acquired knowledge could be implemented in their agencies. Andres Abate, Archam’s Finance Manager participated in the presentations and bidden farewell to the Fellows.
Improvements to land administration systems in Argentina would ultimately benefit both countries via increased opportunities for trade.
